Tipographica - God Says I Can't Dance (1996)

I've always appreciated how Tipographica blend some of the catchiest modal and spiritual jazz influences with free jazz chaos, but this one is especially sublime.

Stephen Bishop - Red Cab To Manhattan (1980)

Fantastic. It's not only a yacht rock masterpiece, but an occasionally punchy experimental pop outing that recalls some of the Beach Boys's best work too. Throw in some Zappa and a touch of Billy Joel and you've got a real zinger.

Artist: The Bothy Band

Favorite album: Afterhours - Recorded Live in Paris (1979)

I usually don't like live albums but this one is very good.

Favorite song from the album: The Priest / Mary Willie's / This Is My Love, Do You Like Her?

I picked this up from the library on a whim, knowing nothing about the album or Charlie Haden. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it's really, really good. It's a fairly large jazz band playing definitely late-60s sounding jazz inspired by the Spanish civil war. Great stuff.
Listening to this for the god only knowsth time. This has been one of all time favorite records for many years.

Lucem, you're right, it's silly to talk about what I would or wouldn't do IRL. Glad you brought it up. Maybe you should write an instrumental about it. I recommend a piano paired with a clarinet. With ambient sounds of you hanging from your shower curtain you ****ing failure.
