I know now we're goin back to were we started. I don't think the pistols owe any thing to pink floyd. The Stooges & Bowie & New york Dolls FTW

The pistols were far from perfect, and are pretty much the antithesis of what music I normally listen to, but I respect their music and love their songs. They didn't invent punk, far from it, but they put it in the limelight and therefore have become an icon. Somehow though, the sex pistols are more discussed than they are listened to, something which does work against them.

The Pistols didn't innovate much, it had all been done before, but they made it popular to an extent, and were the voice of a very short lived generation, despite not being a part of it.

Haha yes, Molecules if you just voted then you're a legend, secured the pistol's place in the last few seconds of the poll.

I'm not saying that's what he did, but come on. It's not like anyone who does that kind of shit would admit to it.

Anyway, I just find the whole "I hate Pink Floyd" thing amusing, s'all. I mean, why Pink Floyd? A good bit of their first album was far more "punk rock" and "against the grain" than anything the Pistols ever did. You'd think John would support 'em.
you did

There's a difference between supporting a band and owing something to them.
