@ duga
Here's an obvious one - Philip Glass - Metamorphosis (from Solo Piano). That is if you like minimalism.

Wow, really great stuff, guys. I have plenty to work with now. I really liked that Philip Glass piece...I had heard of Philip Glass before (but never listened), I don't know why I didn't think of him first when I got this piano urge. Thanks!

^^Well, that's the only thing I listened by him, from start to finish, this Metamorphosis composition. It's in 5 pieces on my CD and there are two more different compositions. Really beautiful music. I've always wanted to hear more from him, but somehow forget to search (there's a lot of music out there waiting to be heard). I know that he did a lot of film scores, so we have probably heard more of his music than we're aware of. Still, whenever someone mentions beautiful, modern piano music I think of Philip Glass.

I have Nirvana, Tool and Joy Division, although on the whole i haven't been able to 'get' joy division.

I've been meaning to check out the cure and the smiths, where do you recommend I start?

The rest of the discography is pretty solid, I have everything by them on my ipod actually. This is the ranking of their albums:

Control>
Achilles Heel>
Whole (EP, but deserves to be here)>
Progress>
Winner's Never Quit>
The Only Reason I Feel Secure (Another EP, but with 8 tracks, it's pretty solid)>
Progress (EP, but a good solid four tracks)>
It's Hard To Find A Friend

I'm going to go on a downloading spree. I need some crazy IDM, some post rock that I hopefully haven't heard of, some wacky demented Avant Rock, and maybe some Emo. I won't be downloading much because of school getting in the way, so I'd like to go on DL sprees every weekend.

Care to help, MBers?

Kind of on the "crazy IDM" tip, even though it's not typically associated with IDM but moreso with industrial (to me, it's both), I would suggest this. It's kind of mangled techno with some amazing grooves, hypnotic rhythms, creepy vocals and samples, distortion and pummeling beats. It's ****ing evil and quite unique IMO.

Download - Furnace

I'll also suggest this gorgeous instrumental rock/post-rock album produced by John McEntire of Tortoise. Absolutely beautiful guitar playing.

Cougar - Law

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.
