I need some good ol inspirational music of the sporting kind (not eye of the tiger) -- The reluctant Warrior by Immediate is cool - but something with a bit more bite

Look up Two Steps From Hell on youtube, might be what you're looking for.

Here's what I'm looking for fellas:

Some music -not necessarily genre specific, but it probably is- that has that dark dangerous overtone like Angel from Massive Attack.

Something subtle, yet heavy. You know what I'm saying?

Cheers!

PS: I have been lurking for quite some time and this site has affected me more than any other. My musical explorations are deeper than they ever could have been without you. That is a contribution greater than any amount of money and transcends the soul. Thanks to all of you!

Ooh! I'm also looking for something newer (90's on up) that would make you think "Holy crap! I'm in the Vietnam War!". Not necessarily the anger of war (i.e.: Don't Tread on Me by Metallica), but more the angst of it all complimented by something wishing peace would come of it all.

I know weird, but that's why I look to you all.

You know? Something like a Along the Watchtower by Hendrix, or Summertime by Big Bro & the Holding Co., but more... recently made.

Thanks in advance!

Perhaps These New Puritans' Hidden, or Portishead's Third would be good for this. I think you should explore trip hop generally.

The Blue Hawaiians- Savage Nights

Surf-Noir

Much appreciated.

Portishead- I'm familiar with. The girl sounds whiny to me. I like the girl from Morcheeba...

I have a decent grasp of Trip-Hop, not great, but decent.
Honestly I was fishing for suggestions that might branch away from that genre.

Having said that, I'm definitely going to check out These New Puritans, thanks!

Wink My new music recommendation...

SQUAREPUSHER... ok I know he isn't new but even most people who say they listen to jazz fusion or even some techno have never heard of the guy.

Good records:

HELLO EVERYTHING

FEED ME WIERD THINGS

I would start with those. Happy trails!
