The thought of Dave Matthews combined with opera makes me want to jab pencils into my ears.
That reminds me of one day when my friend's Van Morrison sung a capella was stuck on repeat for about two hours but nobody changed it.... oh god it was horrible!

Ah, but Van Morrison sung a capella for 3 hours on repeat is NOT fantastic.

Definitely start with Vauxhall & I. Undeniably the crowning achievement of his solo career, Vauxhall is filled with songwriting to rival the Smiths, plus the best vocal performances Morrissey ever did.

Noobs to the forum but not necessarily noobs to music.

I'm looking for some new progressive rock with high production quality. Lately I've been getting into more recent Marillion material and I'm wondering if there is anything else similar out there...

Wow... thanks for that, I'll get back to you once I check the album out. Thanks again for the help!

I wasn't suggesting they were new to music, I think you're missing my point. Anyway the post that prompted my comment looks to have been removed, it was likely spam.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

So my favorite bands right now are Frontier Ruckus and Two Gallants. What can you recommend with that awesome 'folky' sound to it?
