Led Zeppelin - I'll have to think about this one a lot actually. I don't listen to them much and I really question their artistic integrity. However, they were all solid musicians and Led Zeppelin is probably the single most consistant band in history. That coupled with their influence on a lot of what I listen to leaves me just not knowing for sure. Maybe?

Joy Division - Yes, Joy Division made some of the most powerful music I've ever heard and their influence on my taste is immense.

Elliott Smith - Average mundane mopey music for average mundane mopey people. No.

The Beatles - One of the most important pop acts ever, but more importantly one of the most innovative psychedelic bands ever. Their later albums managed to influence the majority of what I listen to in some way or another. Yes.

King Crimson - Yes, I like prog so its a given. Influential, great albums, and innovative.

Wu-Tang Clan - No, it just doesn't do anything for me. I can't get into them no matter how hard I try.

The Velvet Underground -I'll give it a yes, though some of their music missed the mark. The majority of it is well thought out and masterfully crafted. Their influence on modern music is also worth noting.

Led Zeppelin - No, they're good but I don't listen to them at all anymore.
Joy Division - I'll say yes, because I have listened to a lot of their second album and some of their first and I like it a fair bit.
Elliott Smith - No
The Beatles - Yeah I guess.
King Crimson - Undecided
Wu-Tang Clan - Never fell in the love with their first album or the Hip Hop genre altogether, so no.
The Velvet Underground - Yes, because I still listen to them all the time.

Your logic here is pretty hypocritical when you consider the fact that he released more albums then Zeppelin, Joy Division and Wu-Tang.

No, it's not. I said the music wasn't transcendent enough. Every one of those bands clears that qualification.

Elliott Smith's music was enjoyable, but didn't stand out from the music scene. He'd need a much longer career, in my opinion, to overcome that.

Lol, Elliott Smith didn't even sound the same throughout his career and what else sounds like him anyway (that didn't come after him?)

Seriously, Elliott touched on many elements, you wouldn't even be able to tell it was the same person going from Heatmiser to Figure 8.

Led Zeppelin yes because while I'm not particularly a big fan, they've made an impact.
Joy Division yes because they are hugely influential.
Elliott Smith yes because few artists can match his genius.
The Beatles yes. I don't feel the need to explain.
King Crimson no because I'm not a fan.
Wu-Tang Clan yes. One of the few hip-hop groups I like.
The Velvet Underground neutral. I don't care either way.
