2 my generation-the who

This song is okay, but #2 all time?

4 wile my guitar gently weeps-the beatles

Is this up here only because Clapton plays on it? Be honest...

5 purple haze-jimi hendrix

Overplayed.

6 pinball wizard-the who

This is one of the worst examples of bands pandering to their record labels of all time.

8 it's all right now-free

This song is awful.

9 back in black-AC/DC

See above.

10 stairway to heaven-let zeppelin

...this is tongue-in-cheek?

11 after midnight-jj cale and eric clapton

Eeeeeeewwwww

12 welcome to the hotel california-the eagles

Is this a remix of the song "Hotel California" by the Eagles? If so, I hope it isn't fucking trash like the original.

13 who are you-the who

Eh, this always felt like the Who trying to sound like "Who's Next" and failing.

14 voodoo chile-jimi hendrix

I concur on this one...if you mean "(slight Return)" and not the 12 minute version.

15 you give love a ban name-bon jovi

....

BAHAHAHAHAA

16 hit thew road jack

lolwut

17 i want to hold your hand-the beatles

Eh, its a pop song...#17?

18 Don't Fear The Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult

An overplayed BOC song

19 wont get fooled again-the who

Nahhh

20 message in a bottle-the police

Yuck.

21 hay jude-the beatles

haha they shoulda titled it "hay jude"

22 cocaine-eric clapton

This song is boring as hell.

23 25 or 6 to 4-Chicago

Neither.

24 Roxanne-the Police

Probably my favorite Police song, and thus my 20,000th favorite song of all time.

HAhahahahahaha the only song released after 1980 is Bon Jovi, bwahahahaha

Its opinions like these that are destroying music. Was this lifted from a mainstream classic rock radio station?[/QUOTE]

Okay...I couldn't agree more with everything this guy had to say. This playlist reads like the Time Life "Best of Classic Rock" compilation -- that is to say, overplayed and boring as ****. Why not throw on a little Skynyrd or Doors while you're at it? This list wouldn't be complete without Sweet Home Alabama or Come On Baby Light My Fire. Right? Right.

How does one person's list of favourite songs 'destroy music?'.

Nice that you rip him apart and don't post your own.

I suspect he's only going to be around till his 16th post.

I might just humour him by letting him get to 15 and then deleting all the fuckers.

Haha no I did, Big Al just fucked up quoting me.

And what I mean is, that if all you listen to after 1979 is Bon Jovi, and you tote around that sort of opinion seriously, than you are part of the reason people like Eric Clapton, who have done nothing bust dust off old blues licks and ruin Bob Marley songs way too much credit, and overshadowing bands who deserve it. I guess not ruining music....but just being another body claiming to be into music, and then I come to find out hes just another boring Clapton fan. Basically, there was a rock critic who once said, "Nostalgia is the most insidious corruptor of great rock n' roll", and this is sort of an example of that.

So, no, the Beatles aren't destroying music, but I despise Clapton and for me, hes been ruining music for 40+ years.
