Christian Musicians/Music (blues, rock, genre, album, Kiss)

I think that if a band has to label themselves as Christian they may feel that their music can't make it on its merits alone...The Christian music industry seems to make it seem that if don't listen to Christian music you aren't a true believer or whatever...Irony...I play in a Christian band...Am I a Christian...yes...Do I have doubts about my religion...yes, many...Do I listen to Christian music...not really.

i find christian bands, especially ones on christian labels, tend to be just a rip off of regular good bands so there tends not to be to many actual good ones. my parents used to try and get me to listen to random ones back in the day. i used to like a couple of bride albums. a couple other decent ones are as i lay dying, circle of dust, deliverance, demon hunter, flyleaf, haste the day, living sacrifice, and zao. nothing really ever stood out as a great band though. ever watch the south park with cartman forming a christian band, that basically the jist of most 'christian bands.' christians who happen to play in a band tend to be a little more creative.

Extol and Orphaned Land are both pretty good. So were Mortification.

oh yeah i forgot about mortification. i think i actually still have one of there albums somewhere. i think it was called hammer of god or something.

Rick Wakeman is a born again christian.

Makes me wonder then, when is he finally gonna come out with The Passion of the Christ on Ice?

Bob Dylan made a couple of Christian records as well in the early 80s...He has since moved on but was born again at one point.

It's a well-known fact that Slayer converted to Christianity in the mid-eighties. They're operating a makeshift prayer tent somewhere in the Bible belt, I believe.

Cool Hand Luke are a pretty good band who started a 3 piece screamo band who now peddle a Indie Rock type of vibe. The music has messages but it is never forced.
