Anna, by Arthur Alexander
.
The fabled 'Go with him' song from the 'Oldies but Young'uns' episode of the greatest television show in history,
'Married with Children', where Al (Ed O'Neill) is haunted by a tune on the radio he can hum but not name.

Ha ha! "Married with Children" -- I used to watch that show all the time!

"Anna" is a nice song. I had never heard it before.

Volbeat - "I Only Wanna Be With You" (cover)
Today for the first time I also heard this cover of Dusty Springfield's famous 1963 song written by Mike Hawker and Ivor Raymonde. I hadn't expected a metal genre version:

I loves me some Volbeat, so I was pretty excited to hear this. Not bad, I have to say!

I've been listening to this tonight:

Yes, and what surprises me, nonsubmissive, is how different Volbeat's songs can sound. At first I thought maybe there were two different groups by the name of Volbeat! Compare...

Volbeat - "Evelyn"
Metal, growling, harsh, powerful, angry-sounding. I don't know if the same person is doing the growling and singing, but if he is one and the same then he's got good vocal technique to handle both, I think.

with

Volbeat - "Heaven Nor Hell"
Melodic, big stadium rock sound, harmonica - Kind of reminds me of Journey because it is so melodic

This live recording of Some Summers They Drop Like Flies by Dirty Three. 'Holy shit' is all I have to say about this.
