I think I would definitely have to put up Gang of Four as my favorite British post punk band. This song is just so shamelessly addictive.

Wadada Leo Smith's album "Ten Freedom Summers" (2012). First track is one of the best: Dred Scott: 1857

Album goes for over 4 hours, which is an insane gift to anybody who loves jazz.

I don't think it's possible to be unhappy while listening to Blondie. Either because their music just makes you smile, or you can't stop thinking about banging Debbie Harry.

That sounds like it could be crazy good, as long as the music is good enough. Maybe not good enough to listen to in one sitting, but still, good.

And this is what I'm listening to. Experimental drone/post-metal(?)/something or other. Good ****.

This is only the third time I've listened to this album, and it gets better every time. First time, it didn't really make any sense to me and I bailed on it pretty quickly. Second time, it finally made sense after a couple songs and was amazing. Third time, even better, and one of the coolest albums I've ever heard. If a black metal band decided to play indie pop, it might sound like this.
