Gavin Bryars - Glorious Hill

I would've linked the original CD version I'm listening to, but the person who uploaded it to YouTube apparently did it with a potato. Nonetheless, it's a really beautiful work if you're into this sort of thing. By which I mean very spacy, ten-minute chamber vocal music.

^ Gavin Bryars is fantastic. It's a bit different from what he made in his later years, but I'd recommend listening to "The Marvelous Aphorisms of Gavin Bryars: The Early Years" for a very interesting listen to say the least. Aside from The Sinking of the Titanic, that's my favourite of his.

Anyway, my modern classical tune of the moment is:

I'll have to check that out. I've been meaning to listen to more of Bryars' music but haven't really known where to start.

Also, coincidentally, I've been reading Kyle Gann's book on 4'33" and ended up listening to one of Cage's later pieces one night a few weeks ago after I downed a bottle of cabernet. It was an interesting experience, to say the least.
