What I fear is that I got it, I just didn't like what I got.

He transmits a rather strong rural and arid southern american atmosphere, am I right in saying this?

I'm not sure what he transmits, I sense he has southern American influences in his music, but I wouldn't say it's 'stong'. But whatever it is he transmits I quite like it. Though the only album I really like is The Shepherd's Dog, the best way to describe that album "gospel music for atheists".

Maybe you don't like his stuff, but I'd judge off The Shepherd's Dog. His strongest album by far.

Yeah I'm really tired of this trend of indie folk music that's so f*cking twee it makes Elliott Smith sound like black metal.

Lantlôs - .neon (2010)

It's funny that someone mentioned Alcest's new album a few posts up in such negative light. For the record I loved êcailles de lune to death and I'm intrigued with this fusion of shoegaze with black metal. While I don't think it will do much to change people's minds about black metal, it's still cool that a genre so tight knit with purists, could be evolving into something so much more open.

Sadly though .neon just didn't do it for me. The music was good, but it was a little too shoegazy for me. When I see "metal" at the end of a genre or sub genre I expect to rock out a little bit, or at least once. While this album did deliver on a nicely atmospheric production, I just felt that everything else was sub par.

Oersted by Merzbow.

I downloaded it. It's trash.

I struggled to get a picture so that's the best you get.

Anyway, it's Merzbow - Nil Vagina Tape Loops

I love Merzbow and recently purchased the Merzbox. As you'd probably expect though, it's inconsistent. While some of it is really good, Nil Vagina Tape Loops was perhaps the most dull album I have ever heard. Absolutely bored me to tears. There's really very little to it other than tape loops of some sounds, and he never does much with it. It just sounds like some sound experiments that don't really make decent music at all.

Fruit Bats - The Ruminant Band

This is fucking awful! One of the most mediocre piece of shit indie albums I've ever listened to. Soooooo boring! I suffered through my first listen a month or so ago, and today's was no improvement. Don't let the door hit you in the ass!
