Beck - Midnite Vultures

Probably my least favorite Beck album, and I've only listened to the first 5 tracks. I'm getting increasingly annoyed with each passing song.
I agree, pretty bad album. How do you rate my favourite, Mutations?

On my beck this album > that album, Mutations would probably be in the lower half.

To be honest I think I like his albums best in the order they were released.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

I have a three spin limit for albums I'm unfamiliar with. If I can't get into it after three spins then it's probably not going to ever mesh with me. All the things I found interesting about it were all in the background and continually interrupted by a monotonous and bland bass/snare beat. Not only that the songs seemed to end prematurely, however as I said in my original post, that may be due to an improper rip. Still, the songs were only short by 30-40 seconds, so not shortened by a terribly long amount of time. I will admit that the album is incredibly accessible to neonates of the electronic genre and I am definitely a newbie to it, but I have what I like and Flying Lotus ain't it.

Agreed with RVCA about Midnite Vultures.... there is not much in the way of great music going on there... and ever since this album it's been kinda spotty as far as Beck is concerned....

Guero is pretty awesome though.

Sea Change is tremendous as well.

I've always had trouble with why people dislike it. The album is so fun and upbeat, one of the few fun and "happy" albums I actually enjoy. It's a little ironic in a way, most of the "happy" jangly indie pop albums people go on about do nothing for me, but nearly everyone dislikes Midnight Vultures.
