Love Fungus Amongus and S.C.I.E.N.C.E.!

Maybe Mother's Milk RHCP, but Incubus had a heavier, more metal-influenced sound. It was more like they were trying to combine RHCP, Mr. Bungle, and Primus all into one band...

I always saw Faith No More as their biggest influence to be honest.

They liked to sample and get a little weird, which I see as more of a Bungle thing than FNM...

Its a close one for me, but im going to vote yes.

On one hand the Chili Peppers bore me, their output can be rather bland as in i am very rarely ever in the mood to listen to it and so their appeal is most definitely limited.

However they have played a part in my musical maturity. When i was in my teens i heard Otherside and remember flicking through music channels for hours to see the video over and over again. My sister then brought me a promo of Californication home from work so i could listen to it. I have a feeling i may be in the minority here but yes, you can argue that their first 4 albums are their best and maybe they are but i also have a soft spot for Californication and By The Way.

Good enough and just say important enough to me to scrape a yes, but it was a close one.

How much Bungle and Faith No More have you listened to? Even on their most interesting albums, Incubus were no where near as experimental as Bungle nor did they do the genre hopping thing that was such a staple of Bungle's sound. They just flat-out don't sound like really any of music on the three commercially released Bungle albums. They did however have the quirky funk-metal thing of FNM's The Real Thing / Angel Dust era down pat.
