I always figured I had a small collection compared to everyone else from the way everyone here talks about music.

how old are you? i've been hungrily devouring music since i was 14 and now i'm 24...i imagine my music collection to be even more intimidating in another 10 years time.

if you are, say, 16 with that kind of music collection i can't imagine you have enough time to listen to much of that with any sort of real appreciation. but, from some of the posts i've read from you, i don't think you are 16...

Looking at the amount of files compared to gigabytes, it would seem it's mostly lossy files.

Seems I might have to extend the options! Cadrian, vote again please once your option is in place.

edit :

Also goes for whoever else had more than 50k!

I am 25.... No, I dont think I listen to music like a lot of people on here. Who connoisseur it like it was a fine wine. Alot of times Music is like a movie to me, I watch it once or twice then either it goes into my favorite pile or just sits on the shelf------- Alot of it sits on the shelf, but I can least say I have heard it :P

I usually just put it on random and just listen while surfing the web which is probally about 4 hours a day of straight music, if you dont include what I listen to in the car.... I find new stuff in my own collection a lot but I am constantly on the look out for new stuff. I love new stuff I never heard before.

Most of them are in 320.... but I do have some 192 and 256 and Rarer stuff I have in 128 but I am constantly trying to upgrade those.

Meh, of course you can't vote again when you've already voted. I've voted for you Cadrian.

I have a good collection of about ~32 400 files (210GB or so). What's good about it is not the size, but the rather meticulous tagging and file organization. I'm a bit compulsive with being neat and correct when it comes to my library.

I have no real belief in the value of lossless formats, so I convert those to lossy.

I'm only at about 13 gigs/163 albums ATM. I should note that I've had the luck of having to start from scratch with my music collection twice in the past year and a half.

I have 530 GB (about 100,000 songs) in my music collection. I keep 120 GB of it on my iPod and yet there are still times when I want to listen to an album only to find that it's not on there.

I'm in the 5,000 to 9,000 range like many other members.
