Melodic Japanese noise- rock. Much more fun than the mostly dull US counterpart. Afrirampo are a female duo, although the sound made by Oni and erm . . Pikachu often suggests a full blooded rock band. The drums especially are immense and 'Umi' features my favourite guitar freak out in years. I've just discovered these, too late it seems, as according to them, it will be their last album. Oh, and it's a double album, so there's the inevitable duff tracks but luckily they're reserved for the second disc.

Oh man! I knew they were breaking up but I didn't even realize they released a new album this year. They are one of my favorite noise rock bands if not my favorite. They are always competing with Melt Banana for me. Their energy is just so infectious, it doesn't matter how chaotic their music gets, they seem to be having such a great time playing it that it's hard not to have a good time listening to it. Can't wait to check this out.

^ Yeah its top notch. I haven't got round to hearing their previous audio endeavours but this is meant to be as good as if not better according to dem pesky/sometimes reliable reviewer type people.

It's awesome, and it's awesome that some of Australia's great music is finally getting recognised...

I didn't even know where they came from.
I actually saw them live performing at the Lowlands festival in the Netherlands.
They've come from far .

You're so hip! I only listened to ~15 albums this year.

Looking at your list just proves that it's much too soon for me to make such a list. There are so many here that I've never heard or even heard of, that sound interesting! Now I'm even farther from solidifying a list.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.
