Uhg, I hope this thread is a joke. Akon is just another wealthy "musician" who tries to act tough. Another "musician" who focuses more on appearance than the meanings of songs. Hell, he's got his bloody shirt off all the time. He sounds like all those other generic hip hop/ R 'n' B musicians too. I really do hope this is a troll thread or a joke... Here is my reply to those who actually DO believe that Akon person is better than Bob Dylan:

Why would it be a joke? Just because you happen not to like Akon?

How much of his material have you heard such that you can justify that asinine comment?

He's worked hard day and night to attain his physique. Why should he not put it on display for our admiration?

Which one/s? I cannot think of one who sounds like Akon.

It's not a question of whether he's "better" than Dylan. It's a question of who holds more influence in the world due to their contributions to the art world. At the current point in time, I bet a whole lot more people care about what Akon has to say.

All lack of seriousness aside, I have to say this is one of the douchiest things I've ever seen a musician do on stage...

Fuck, being at an Akon concert seems like something out a Hunter S. Thompson story. If you've read The Kentucky Derby Is Decadent and Depraved you'd know what I mean.

Who is the better lyricist, Leonard Cohen or Justin Bieber?

Those white teen girls are all about Akon. That skinny white boy really got tossed though, I am not sure if he needed to take his chains and shirt off to do it but maybe it added distance.

Why are you talking about Akon's body? Who cares?

You troll too hard. I think more people alive have heard Bob Dylan's music than Akon's. Bob Dylan had been a mainstay of American culture for decades. Just because young people aren't ALL familiar with Dylan doesn't mean more people overall know of or are influenced by Akon. Most people over the age of 30, which is a vast portion of the demographic, know who Bob Dylan is and don't know Akon.

Also, why over-react when someone said Akon never really been to prison. Wouldn't you be glad that the artist you liked didn't go to jail. If you think it's glamorous to go to jail and be a tough guy with a '****in body'... so be it. But it's all a show. And you eat it up I guess.
