yeah it's really the backing music that I love, especially since i'm used to listening to symphonic metal...the vocals don't bother me so much

OH! It's a good thing you said that. That will definitely change what I send you.

For the most part my friends and family respect me from a musical aspect. Only because (without sounding like im tooting my own horn) of my ability of being able to write, play and sing. I have accomplished little in life that has any significance what so ever other than my child. So im not one of those who is out to gloat when there isnt anything to be proud of. I stay as humble as possible from a musical standpoint cause there is always somebody who is better. So I would have to say pretty much everything I enjoy in music they enjoy. With your obvious exceptions to the rule cause there is an age gap that simply cant be bridged in some cases. Like I could never convince my father to listen to Tupac or anything of that nature. But since the Blues and Rock are my dominant genre's its not an issue.

I don't disagree with either of these statements.

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.

My mother has always been of the opinion that my music did not constitute music. No matter how many times I ask her how her parents felt about her music, it's always, "Yeah, well, that's different".

Yeah, I was listening to Dissection while high once and I had to turn it off. It sounded awesome, but it was totally ****ing with my head. I can listen to death metal, thrash metal, whatever metal when I'm stoned, but I don't touch black metal.

No reaction really. I am sure some of my friends thought it was strange I made the transition from emo type music to 90s rap. My family doesn't know who any of the people I listen to are. My Mom listens to top 40, whatever is played at her work, and my step dad listens to top 40 rock. My friends and I don't talk about music much, we all like different things.

I don't listen to black metal. Every other genre is fine with me. Black metal conflicts with my beliefs.

Some friends joke and call it emo and goth music.
Other friends like it since I have the same taste they do.
My parents don't really care since they barely hear what I listen to.

my friends and family have no idea what I listen to. They all like music that is a lot different than the one I like, so they never took an interest in finding out what is it exactly that I listen xD
