My flatmates hate my taste in music, but then again they listen to stuff like Papa Roach, the Good Charlotte, Blink 182, Pigeon Detectives and the Kooks, so I don't really take their opinions seriously A lot of my other mates can dig something in my music collection though. As for my family, my brother and I are two peas in the same pod when it comes to music. My little sister and parents don't really know what I listen to on the other hand.

I feel pretty lucky after reading this thread, my friends seem to think I have good taste, or at least that I know a lot. Which is nice. And my family's cool too... my dad and I share a lot of music, brother and mom usually latch onto select things that I show them.

So you listen to death metal, but black metal offends you?

death metal deals with reality more, some of the Satanic stuff I can take with a pinch of salt

black metal is mostly Pagan worship which is a no-no for me, especially since most black metallists seem to think theirs is superior to Christianity as it predates it

satanism is just the other side of the coin of the whole Judeo-Christian thingie, I can deal with it, if you wanna align with Lucifer and think Hell is fun, that's up to you

The Black Keys

Just recently when I was listening to these guys a friend said "Could we change the song it's just the same thing over and over again."

Only two people at my school know that I don't listen to mainstream music (which will become more apparent as I'm now writing music-related articles for my school's newsletter). My Algebra teacher actually thought that I had Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" on my iPod just because it was on her radio while I was sitting in the front seat of her car.

My brother and mom could care less.
