I went to see Nick Cave recently and it totally blew me away.

I am a fan, but I didn't expect him to be so good live.

It was a great gig, he was like a preacher the way he commanded the stage.

If you get the chance to see him, make sure you do.

Who cares about the modern lineup though?

Uncle Acid and the deadbeats supported by Blood Ceremony.

Had the pleasure of watching these two last night, with free entry and half priced drinks! (perks of the job I suppose ) Both of them were great as I would have expected. It's actually the second time I've seen Blood Ceremony live, the first being with our very own Exo a few years ago at another venue I have since started working at - free entry and half priced drinks would have been a welcome addition that night!

Hoping to go to quite a few more gigs this year on my days off, but the good ones tend to conflict with the gigs I am already working at Albert Hall. For example, I'm gonna miss out on Kero Kero Bonito because of Brian fucking Fallon.

Peter Evans and Friends

Ivan Trujillo and Nathan Hubbard started off on an electronically augmented trumpet and percussion set with analog visuals that was super dope. Super jazzy but not without its noisy points. The parts where Hubbard took off stole the show though. When I saw AMT, they had a guy dropping food colouring onto a water basin atop an old school projector, but apart from that this was my first experience with that sort of thing. I was really impressed, she used watercolor on paper with the occasional magnifying glass and it made for some captivating landscapes. I asked her how much she improvised/responded to the performance and she said that she just did how she felt. Awesome.

Peter Evans ane Sam Pluta did a much glitchier set with some of the heaviest bass that I've ever felt (to the point that I couldn't even hear it. Some people at the show told me that Jon Wiesse is the pinnacle of huge bass so I obviously have to catch him ASAP). Peter Evans can absolutely shred and his playing really set the stage on fire with his ferocity. I have a newfound respect for the cornet and Evans now. Definitely catch Peter Evans if you have a chance. Goddamn.

Btw, people who just ignore the opener and cheer too early to get them off of the stage are worse than Hitler. Seriously. If you're one of those people, hang yourself and hook me up with the live stream before you kick the chair. I need the closure of you getting the ending that you deserve and I can't count on something ****ty happening to you without overspending on a hit man.
