I have a few things by Antony, but this tops all of his work by miles in my opinion. The poignancy in the verses is just arrestingly gorgeous.

Great thread topic and lots of cool posts, haven't heard a lot of these before! Most songs that suggest sadness (slow, dirgy, dissonant) usually don't make me feel sad; it's usually a song that conjures up sad memories. For instance, one of my friends that was killed at age 30 in a car accident. At her memorial, they played this song, which ruined the song for me:



I've also attended more than my share of funerals and memorial services--and because I've heard this so many times at the services, it makes me sad, in spite of it being a beautiful song:
