I am going to respond to your past post but I want to quickly respond to this. By the way, thanks for disagreeing with and making this discussion fun lol Its no hard feelings here. I just simply did not see the relevance in you saying that you were trained in classical vocals.

You are right. I did say that MJ had a broader range than Justin but you said that that you are trained in CLASSICAL vocals.

MJ and Justin are not classical singers.

This thread is a broken record. Obviously my understanding of Michael Jackson is skewed due to my lack of pop skilled training. My only reason for mentioning it was to imply that I understand the concept of range/tone and it wasn't lost on me at my first listening of Michael Jackson.

Okay I might've missed that.

What's the big deal? The VMAs do something 'controversial' every year. It's a gimmick to get them in the news. I mean, the only reason you guys are talking about it is because you've been sold on the idea that it's controversial by the news. Otherwise, would anyone really care? Doubtful.

I call it shock advertising.

Oh please that isnt the issue

You should have said that because when you say things like this:

It comes off like you feel like your opinion is justified or more superior because you have training.
ANYBODY who listens to music can form an opinion on the subject whether they have training or not

FTR, neither of them have good tone or vocal range, compared to other singers I listen to. Doesn't mean I don't enjoy their music though.
