I have found that the best way to find out what style of music people are into is by asking who their favorite bands or artists are. I'm tired of hearing, "Oh, I listen to everything."

Wherever I see an opportunity, I take it (but I tread lightly). Whenever I find I'm talking to someone who loves some of the same stuff I love, it's shocking and feels like we're part of some secret club.

People around me are not as passionate about music as I am. And sometimes they settle for crap music on the radio. So that is why I turn to forums such as this one.

Agreed. It can make you ignore any and every flaw of a person for an extended period of time.

For you maybe but no way could I do that.

I could absolutely hate someone for their stupid behavior and the minute they mention an artist I really love, I feel like I can dig them ... just a little.

This is the truest, most relatable thing you've ever said, lady.

I'll forgive a lot of people who want to talk about good music. It's like they are a new person in my eyes.

I wear a tiny little badge of Sparks' "Kimono My House" album cover on my work lanyard/work badge holder thing and I have a theory that anyone who recognizes it is worth talking to.

A couple people have, and I'm just standing there like "BRETHREN!"

This is one of the most aggravating things. So often people will say they listen to everything, and by that they mean mainstream hip-hop, pop, and some Nickelback and Beatles. l0l

I don't think I've ever heard someone that's actually educated about music use that phrase. It's pretty ignorant.
