Not really One Hit Wonders

Semisonic actually has some pretty good music. Their one hit being "Closing Time."

What other bands/artists do you think may be unfairly known as one hit wonders even though they've been around a long time and/or had lots of good songs?

(I realize all those bands have dedicated fans so I'm not saying they're not good, just interest in how some bands have a brief mainstream success and may or may not embrace that success, whether intentionally or unintentionally.)

I think Mtume was a really underrated band, Tawatha Agee who was quite a famous singer in her own right provided some real nice vocals. They did have a hit in 1983 that became pretty big in dance venues called 'Juicy Fruit', even Biggie sampled it. They had a few other successful songs, but they didn't achieve more of the recognition I feel they needed. 'Juicy Fruit' was a good playful funk/R&B album.

Mazzy Star and The Breeders come to mind, just because I remember knowing a ton of people who only knew "Fade Into You" and "Cannonball".

^ agree on the breeders, last splash is a great album.

im a little ashamed to mention this but i got Limp bizkit's 3 dolla bill just for 'Faith' and it wasn't a bad album it had a couple of decent tunes.
