That could be true. But a lot of people generalising indie could refer to the indie sound being bands like The Killers and Kings of Leon just as much. It's hard to know what they mean sometimes.

I agree with this pretty much wholeheartedly.

Also when I think indie, the first band I think of is Mouldy Peaches. Don't like them, and don't like the other bands people I've known who love them play. So I gotta assume I don't like indie. Seems to be a whole lot of quirky commune-living music with simple lines and riffs, and always young-sounding vocals.

As for music being pussified, I disagree with that statement entirely. Plenty of people are making music that makes an aggressive point.
