^ Agree on this. Overplayed, of course, but for a reason - it's a great song.
Anyone mentioned "I did it my way" ? That must be popular because there are a zillion covers.Even Johnny Rotten liked it.
Screen 13 posted a Walker Bros song, which reminded me of this one, which, at the time it came out had cross-generational appeal:-

Never heard TH's Destination Unknown song before, but it's a good candidate; some irresistable (br)ass. In a similar vein, this is a very catchy, dancy song. I think everybody secretly loves it, right up until they can't endure it for another second and run screaming from the room:-

More sedate, but for me this has a similar effect to the Macarena - starts off catchy, then drives you mad :-

Ever heard the late, great Eva Cassidy's version? Voice of an angel.

When talking about the best overall guitarists on the planet, Tommy's name has to be included in the discussion.

I liked it, but far from the best version I've heard.

Even if you hate dad rock, you know this song has a place in your drunken heart.

Seriously? I find the song's theme pretty prominent in Orcutt's version. It is somewhat hidden between his flourishes but it's definitely still there.
