chuck it over.
One of the reasons I reared my ugly head back at Music Banter is because I felt I wasn't finding as much new music from this year.

My primary source of music downloading was shut down so I couldn't just grab stuff as I saw that it had been released. Having to go on word of mouth, recs and listening to bands/artists I'm already familiar with.

I've tried to give my opinions for why I like/don't like the albums I've heard from this year. Might not be a great writer but I've given it an attempt.

It's all well and good to tell me To Be Kind is 5* and AOTY whilst not saying why and never playing it again after 2014 has ended. Just don't wanna put myself out there asking for recs and getting similarly sourced albums sent to me, that's all.
Fair enough. I'll admit I regularly visit Pitchfork just to get very quick and easy album recs basically but I find myself disagreeing with their reviews about as often as I agree. Still have a lot of respect for them regardless

Yeah, no doubt. I think what they're doing in terms of bringing people to music and music to people is admirable.
What is basically a subjective review site has become a bit of a staple of the modern music industry, what I don't like is that Pitchfork know their own power only too well.

They know if they back a particular album or artist people will just starting uttering the same rhetoric that they have told them to recite.
So artists that they deem as 'cool' or the best direction for music to be going in will get the bump regardless of quality and many people will follow suit. Sure, they're bound to recognize a quality album when they hear one, but they can also spot, construct and exploit a trend when they want to as well.

What are your thoughts on Zappa's Dance Me This?

It's good, but not as awesome as I imagined a collaboration with Kongar-ol Ondar to be. I'm also not a huge fan of the synclavier.

I loved that Stabbed in Back album. Best skate punk I've heard in a while, maybe since Pulley's later days.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

I kind of just listed them as they came up. Certainly my favorite album of the year so far. Just the way i like it distorted to the nines with vocals that punch you in the face.
