Those "shreds" videos are hilarious. I hadn't noticed before that when the guy is doing Paul Stanley's voice he sounds kind of like Adam Sandler. It would be hilarious if Sandler was really behind those (Sandler can play a number of instruments).

Anyway, I'm a big KISS fan, so . . .

Aside from that, like I said, I enjoyed some of the Half Japanese I was hearing. I just haven't liked the Jad Fair I've heard that was more conventional, because it was just kinda boring songwriting (in terms of chord progressions, melodies, arrangments, etc.), only with kind of unpolished playing and singing that I found annoying. The more outside stuff I kind of dig though, and I'm a big Sonic Youth fan.

Most Johnston I've hated. I'll check it out though.

Speaking of Johnston, I watched The Devil and Daniel Johnston when it came out--well, when it appeared on Netflix. I'd never heard of him before prior to that, but I watch a lot of films. I also have an aversion to knowing too much about a film before I watch it.

Well, I made it halfway through convinced that I was watching some sort of brilliant Spinal Tap-ish mockumentary, but then I finally started getting the feeling that it wasn't a mockumentary at all, and it was a serious documentary about a real guy. So I paused to check and I couldn't believe it. I didn't get as much of a kick out of the second half, after I knew that it wasn't some sort of black comedy.

I love him because he makes some of the most honest music I've ever heard, especially Hi, How Are You?.

The Shaggs are proto-autism rock. You know, before they changed the definition in the 90s and more cases landed on the spectrum.

That reminds me; sometimes I seem to enjoy Jane Birkin quite a bit, but mostly she doesn't get anywhere near my stereo.

I find when I listen to 90s rap like Bone Thugs n Harmony or 2pac, I enjoy it but it's just not frequently played.
