Now this was just unutterably awful. I hate, hate, HATE those choppy, broken-up samples that some forms of electronic music seem to use, and this is full of them. I got to the two-minute mark, hated it, skipped ahead in case it got better. It didn't. Worst one yet. Sorry. Never mind not being my cup of tea, I wouldn't even take these tea bags off the shelf at the supermarket!

Yikes! Well, at least you're being honest. It really is an anomaly that I like tbh

Glad you dug the track. I would expect you to be a huge American folk fan based on what I know you like. Do you actively dislike folk or have you just not checked much out?
I find some folk very boring and dreary (check Julia Byrne and that Gentlewoman something man album in my thread) but I can enjoy good folk. I like it when the song tells a story (in any genre, but folk can do this so well) but I guess it's just that I haven't really explored it to any great extent. Guthrie is amazing of course, and Dan Fogelberg's debut album could qualify both as folk and country, but there are plenty of artists I've never even heard of or tried.

That was all right. I know some Mitchell, but I found myself drifting off about halfway through, this being my contention that much folk can be very boring and I find it often fails or struggles to hold my attention.

This was all right, but not much else. I find it vaguely unsettling when a woman does growly vocals, just me I guess but it always seems a little weird. She sings ok, but generally I'm left thinking, so what? What difference is there between this and, say, In This Moment? I know the latter isn't really considered a metal band, but I hear similarities. All I can say is it's all right, but just that. Would not be a fan.
Sorry, that's kind of three for three, but as they say, it is what it is, and ever shall be, world without end, praise Dio.

I think I just felt a slight tingle of rage right there.

In This Moment is the worst thing ever. That's the main difference.

one of my co-workers talks about that band all the time but after reading their rym page i figured im better off just not listening to them because it will soil my opinion of his taste in music
