It's unlikely that I'm going to be head over heels about every one of his many, many albums. It's been interesting enough that I plan to go all the way through his discography and I think I'm feeling more positive about his late 70's output and what came after.
Still lots of room for low scores (), but I think there will be a lot less from here on. I fundamentally find his more mature output to be more appealing.
Hey, anyone who can diss Ziggy, Aladdin and Hunky ... well, say no more really!

Hopefully the Berlin Trilogy will be more to your taste, first of them tomorrow.

The whole Ziggy thing just doesn't do it for me. "glam rock", as I guess much of it is labelled, apparently isn't really my bag.

I've listened to Low 5+ times already over the last two days, so I'm ready!

Cool of you to offer that, as always, but when it comes to Bowie, I'm confident I can find most of his albums in my local used records store. I'd really like to have a physical copy of any album that I really care about. Very archaic mentality, I know, but that's my style.

Be very interested in your take on Low actually.

No that's fine. I know some people prefer to have physical copies. It's cool. Just thought I'd offer is all. Sometimes having at least MP3 copies is better than nothing.

I'm spoiling nothing

Haven't figured out what to say, actually, I've just been absorbing it.

I do use my mp3 library a lot, so it definitely is. Most of my library is ripped directly from my CD's, although I do have a fair amount of stuff that I don't have on a physical medium.

I use Spotify a lot also, of course, but that's more for exploration.

Do you already have it on your computer? No need to go out of your way if not.

Cheers btw.

Yeah, I have to say another five for me. I see now why people rate this album so highly. Only six tracks but each one is pretty near perfection. I've always loved "Wild is the Wind" (was really surprised to see it was a cover) and the opener and title track is just superb. "TVC15" does go on a little and is pretty much repetitive to the max, but not enough to drop a point here. Excellent album.

Purple Rain I do, the other one, no, but it's simple to get it if you want it.

Wow, I guess I'm the low guy on the totem pole here. I'm really not all that impressed with this album. I also think the whole Thin White Duke persona was a bit creepy (the notorious pro- Fascist stance, no doubt one of Bowie's varying performances). Anyway, the album certainly isn't terrible but the songs seem a little overlong and I do think the Wild is the Wind is unnecessary. Favorite tracks are Golden Years (saves the album for me) and TVC15. Not his worst album but not his best either.

6/10 (The Word has spoken )
