Edited to clarify that I meant instruments, mainly inspired by this:

Definitely. I see this brand of indie pop further rejecting conventional recording techniques and pushing lo-fi recording further to the forefront. Hypnagogic pop a la Jack Stauber is gonna take off and Frankie Cosmos' musical style is gonna seem glossy in comparison.

I highly doubt this will happen, but hopefully more people will finally accept that Black Sabbath wasn't the only metal band in the early 70's nor the first band to play metal.

EDIT: Yeah, I know that Budgie, Bang, and Sir Lord Baltimore have the metal tag on RYM but them being metal is still debated by people for some reason.

^ That makes me also wonder if there's going to be a 60's psych (rock and folk) resurgence in the wake of this political climate. Will flower power make a comeback?

Maybe we'd have to go to war for that to happen.

In the year 2020 ... Babe Rainbow will be digitally erased from YouTube for using "Babe" in a politically incorrect way.

Last change to see half decent trippy 60's Psychedelia Revival right here:

The Babe Rainbow - Evolution 1964

I could definitely see that happening, with how big the stoner scene is it's bound to crossover into less heavy territories at some point.

If America engages in a war that has realistic damage on its soil, the music will move away from the surreal and become more stripped down and simple. Honestly I already see a psychedelic resurgence already happening, just not in a way that's limited to rock or folk. Could just be brimming right now to come into full swing in the 20s though.
