When I think synths and dating, I can easily think 1970s: prog rock and these ..,

so do, apparently, these guys:



synths, cowbell, back-ups in satin robes



somewhat shallow lyrics, but great intro.





Most music is dated.

The 80s gave us a lot of good music, but like other decades, you have to look for it (some times not too much).

I don't think videos have any effect on how the music sounds, but sure, 80s music sounds "80s" because of the technology used to make it and the trends of that era. The same can be said of any other time period as well.
