Good point elphenor, metal is technically under the umbrella of rock and is currently seeing much more innovation and new ideas. Maybe that's where the OP's answer lies.

I think if you're looking for a way to end elph's prohibition of Heavy Metal you have to find a song that is relatable. The guitar in this song is "retreading" Kurt Cobain's "retreading" of the lead guitar work in David Bowie's The Man Who Sold the World.

What are your innovations? I do lunges first to get the blood flowing. Still haven't found a medication that'll stop the blood in my stool but it's gotta get out somehow.

Drink plenty of water, you wouldn't attempt to go on a water slide without any flowing water at Water World, right? So why do that to your poops? No wonder there's blood, they're like Frank going down Thunder Gun Express.

If rock will go anywhere newish it'll go in a sample heavy direction I think. First song is recorded snippets of live instrumentation played and organized through a sampler, same for the second but with a hint of grime and dub. I like the idea of using a guitar or a bass like a simple rhythmic sequence out of a drum machine, the actual character of the sound is more important than it playing a melody.
