What's the appeal of Prince?

His style was always consistent and appealing to his listeners. For The 80's there was more emotion and ambition in his songs than the Pop Scene of stilted, mechanical rubbish that defined the decade. To each their own, but I'd say there's a lot of appeal in what made him break through.

History has proved it -
He made history with Controversy, Purple Rain, 1999, and Sign "O" the Times - had ambitions that did not alienate his listeners and were successful with them - broke many boundaries - kept up a brand and image for all those years while being a multi-talented musician (when you're dealing with the Pop Scene that mainly focuses on the young, that's a major plus). His music can connect with his listeners and even the post-80's songs have had their share of stand out songs. A true self-made success - that's at least a real appeal. Can't say that much about many of his peers.

As someone who loves Prince’s music, i think it’s his music style which is really appealing to me. Prince had a very unique way to create music, it’s almost abstract in a way. And then the lyrics is super hot and appealing, prince was the first artist ever who introduced me(when i was a teen) to the sexuality even though i didn’t fully understood it as a teen. His songs represented not only male sexuality but also female sexuality which i’m very impressed of and it’s also a huge turn on! It’s about being dirty, feeling like a slut, feeling attractive but it also has romantic references. He’s also great at playing guitar.

Patience, my son. All good things...

Bear in mind that a) I'm not just writing about Prince's albums but his entire life, and that includes all other musical projects like The Time, Vanity 6 and so on, and also that b) I'm working on upwards of thirty different journals so it has to take its place in the queue.
