Default Albums That Disappointed

I know we have Albums You're Not Digging, but this is more about specific ones you were looking forward to that really failed to live up to your expectations. I am a big Steve Earle fan, so when his new one was released in 2011 I was excited. That excitement soon faded when I heard what appeared to be Earle moving away from his country/rock roots and more in a folky acoustic direction. He recovered on the next album, for me anyway, but this remains something of a disappointment for me.

Steve Earle - I'll Never Get Out of This World Alive (2011)

One of the better tracks (not that there are that many of them)

It's been decades since I would look forward to an upcoming new album release from a favorite band or artist but back when I used to eagerly await new releases, these four albums in particular were a memorable letdown for me...

Led Zeppelin - In Through the Out Door

The Who - Who Are You

The Rolling Stones - Emotional Rescue

The Clash - Cut the Crap

That must be because Presence was just so damn awesome.

In the grand scheme of Zep's discography though, ITTOD gets a bit of a raw deal, especially since it's their swan song album. I quite like it.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

The songs aren't that good. The two title tracks are nice, the rest is okay but weak compared to their singles.
