I like to keep everyone engaged, and I find that when someone has "a dog in the race", so to speak, they're more likely to stick with something like this. The idea of looking at a list and thinking "hey, only X weeks till my album comes up!" Also, sometimes I like to listen in advance and do my write-ups, as I may be busy with my 4,564,701 journals (or is that 4,564,702? I think I'm beginning to lose count) so I like to have something prepared. Also, I'm A for anal.

Okay four days till we do a new album, and with V-day coming up you're all going to be busy (I say you because I just shrink into a tight ball and sit in a corner waiting for the hated day to pass) so can we get the thoughts of those who have not yet given them, so we have a clear path to Batty's album on Tuesday? I was hoping to be able to listen and review at the same time but I can't right now and figured I better say something.

I listened to Fields of the Nephilim - Elizium twice. I will be honest and say the first time I listened to it I didn't think much of it at all and thought as much as I appreciated it as music, it wasn't something I would go back to. On the second listen I actually really enjoyed it which I was pleasantly surprised about.

Throughout the full album it has a sort of 80's feel to it and I felt like the songs all blended it to one another seamlessly. I liked this about it but I found it difficult to keep track of what song was what.

I absolutely loved "For Her Light" and I added it in to my favourite songs. This was the only song that stuck out for me probably because the style of it was much more upbeat. I will definitely listen to the album again, it had some great instrumentals and an overall spooky feel to it.

I don't want to hold up the show if anyone is waiting for my review. I nominated the album, so it follows that I like it. Personally, I think the mood and the contiguousness/continuity of the album and it's efficacy for sustaining and maintaining the mood and vibe of the dark and ethereal concept is wonderful. Next to early Cure efforts, and Christian Death's debut album, this is one of my all time favorite goth records. They had an engineer who worked with Pink Floyd working on this album, which makes sense after you hear it. It's a wonderful effort that Fields of the Nephilim would never top.
