I just heard on the radio today, one of the guys from TVotR is going to do everything with Jane's Addiction except be in the band; Write, play, record, tour.

Seemed really weird but whatever.

yeah, I agree to the point I don't really know how to form an opinion on the subject. It seems so out of the blue and non-sequitur to their vibe.

I'm quite interested to find out what prompted this.

EDIT: Also do you know which one? I really hope it's not the lead singer--he seems way to opposite to do that.

Ha, no. They DJ said "the....dude" so I'm not really sure. I just googled and found...

Jane's Addiction have been without a bassist since Duff McKagan left the group late summer to focus on the upcoming Loaded album, The Soundtrack. Well, they've found an unlikely replacement to help them complete their reunion album: TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek.

Spinner confirmed the news late last night, adding that it appears that Sitek will only assist on the Jane's record and won't become a permanent member of the alt-rock group. Beyond playing bass, it appears that Sitek will also help write and produce the record, which still does not have a name and will be Jane's Addiction's first studio album in eight years.

I didn't know they had Duff ever...

I really like TV on the Radio. There last release was pretty sweet. I heard there getting a new album out this year, looking forward to that.

April 12 seems to be the release date for Nine Types of Light.

You can hear the new single, "Will Do", here: TV On The Radio - Will Do on SoundCloud

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

I remember liking Return to Cookie Mountain, so I'll probably pick up the rest of their material.

Can't wait for the new album! :>

Listening to the new album. The standout seems to be New cannonball run. Fantastic rhythm.

I have to say for me they probably peaked with Return to cookie mountain. Dear Science had a couple of good tracks but I always find myself returning to RTCM and listening to it from start to finish. I've listened to Nine types of light a few times and apart from New cannonball run, I just don't hear anything nearly as exciting as pretty much any track on RTCM. They seem to be slowing down, the rythms seem much less exciting. :/
