Elliott Smith is one of my favourite artists. By far my favourite song writer.

Anyone ever listen to one of his songs and just have it click? I can't explain it, like Say Yes I had listened to that song so many times but until about a month or so ago, I mean I liked it but I listened and it just sort of clicked and I became obsessed with it. Which is sort of how I got into him. Kings Crossing maybe my favorite song by him right now that just happened with it.

Yeah, that happened to me. It was when you couldn't get enough of Say Yes and would always talk about it. So i started listening to it and got hooked on that track too. Twilight as well.

Yeah, it's really innovative and stylish, the way that song is framed by spoken word poetry. Granted the use of poetry in rock recalls Patti Smith and the use of two disparate vocal tracks playing in opposition to each other recalls a Canibus track called "C-quel", but "King's Crossing" brings out a great amalgam of the two.

I've always had a thing for Speed Trials.
I don't know why.
It just makes me love him more.
