nobody said that you shouldnt like it because the reviews said that. i specifically said i DID like the album, and explained that reviews dont mean everything. i simply stated that obviously if multiple reviews are itterating the same point i am, than its likely it isnt just me and that it is a justified arguement.

seen them 3-4 times and it is a pretty good show. nothing EPIC, but definetly worth the bang for the buck. barnes always somehow comes off as a big of a jackass one stage. like when i saw them at a smaller music festival in austin (2nd annual funfunfunfest) they were having some minor problems and the lights went out. well barnes starts bitching and is all "fine well if you dont want us to play we wont" and they all left 1/2 way through the set.... only to realize afterwards it was an accident and came back on stage like "oh, they were just having some technical difficulties... we want to play more songs". i mean i understand he might get annoyed by a lighting probelm, but he went about it very childish manner that was unappealing to the crowd.

Skeletal Lamping is by far their most polarizing album-theres really no point in arguing-you either embrace the lack of structure and experimentalism, or you prefer Barnes' talent for writing perfect pop songs.

As for me, I just started listening again after only giving it a few spins when it came out. It might actually be his catchiest album, and the incohesiveness and sponteneity reminds me of "We're Only In It For the Money", one of my favorite albums of all time. But I can still understand why people hate it. It's definately a grower.

I think the million songs in one song thing was done better in Skeletal Lamping than in Couqeelorkfioerjkgiorjkwhateverthehell. And out of the six albums of their's that I've heard, it's in the top 2 for catchiness.

and aw, I've been meaning to check out that Zappa album. I have like seven of his albums, but not that one.

Yeah, Coquelicot is 90% filler. I only like 'Penelope', 'Frozen Island', and 'Mr. Edminton'.

The Zappa album is great. Im only a real big fan of his early Mothers stuff, and out of the first three, "WOIFTM" is somehow the most chaotic yet most cohesive. You have to listen to it versus his first two albums to understand what I'm getting at, but in any case, it may be my favorite album of the 60's.

Yeah, what happened to Zappa after the Mothers Of Invention? A load of crap came afterwards in the 70s.
