While I wouldn't say this album is exclusively trip hop, Perdition City (2000) by Ulver is definitely one that deserves to be in everyone's music library. To make it even more awesome, the band use to be a black metal outfit that completely abandoned to the genre at the time to be an electronic band. This is definitely some awesome stuff that you really shouldn't miss out on.

I'm new to this genre and am interested in getting into it. I'm guessing that the bands that have been mentioned the most, like Portishead and Massive Attack, are the ones I should focus on first and foremost?
