Dear DCfC,

I never liked you, mostly because of your name mostly, and seconded only by your fans. Let it be known I still hate both, yet upon hearing "Soul meets body" I went and tried to DL the song. Not only did I find it, but I also found the iTunes Original version. I was more than pleasently suprised.

I've always liked the indie sound, but prior to hearing what could otherwise be called your acoustic version I always thought it was ambient chaas that happened to come out as something half decent. I was suprised to find chords and even melody. Thank you Death Cab, you'd made life alot easier for me today.

Honestly,

I'm with you Big3. Soul Meets Body is catchy as hell, besides the one ackward high-pitched moment. But actually the entire new album is a surprising delight. If nothing else, check out tracks

I like a few of there songs but most of there songs have the cheesyest , crummyest lyrics and for somereason there fans are obsessed with how good they are, one example of this is title and registration, there worst song lyric wise and the singgers voice is whiny and ****ty. Built to Spill is good indie at least i think it would be considered indie.

i hear where you are coming from... it does get a bit 'emo'ish etc, certainly enough to be a love/hate thing... I quite like titel & registration myself.

Built to Spill is the type of indie I can't stand... to each their own!

I just really like his voice, it's not for everybody, and their lyrics are very "heart on the sleeve" but I think the music makes up for it, and keeps it out of the "emo" category.

Ben Gibbard does have some of the cheesiest lyrics ever. But, sometimes he gets clever with the cheesiness, and I think that's their appeal. "Heart on a sleeve", I might have to steal that description from jellybean.

Honestly I didn't even like them until the new album, probably not such a popular opinion among their indie-idealistic fans. In the midst of graduating from adoring the Postal Service album, I thought it was a transitionally sweet poptart of an album. Definitely check it if you're a fan.

I think they're incredibly boring and pretty much the epitome of mediocre. For every one good song they make, they have five that I can hardly stand.

I'd say the same about the Postal Service if it didn't have Tamborello to at least bring some talent to the table.
