Montreal has a HUGE ska scene, and Moon Ska records puts out some skankin canuck talent. The ska scene in Montreal is so huge that Catch 22 started their Canadian tour there and sold every piece of merch for the whole tour the first night!!!!

Arcade Fire without a doubt.

I really like stars, the new pornographers, death from above and the arcade fire. I am also a fan of the tragically hip and the guess who, also a big leonard cohen fan. BUT!!! My favorite canadian band/artist is my man , Neil Young who's from my hometown. His excellent guitar work and tremendous writting ability I believe will live on past his and our time.

I still can't make up my mind about arcade fire. Their lyrics are rediculous, some of the best songwriting i've seen in a while, and I just love it to death. I just can't make up my mind on whether or not I like the actual execution of the songs. I have their album, and some times I just can't quite get into it, but other times i really like the lack of structure that's apparent in a lot of tracks. Ok i'm confusing myself. maybe i'll listen to them again now and see if i can make up my mind.
