Both Girls and Surfer Blood are f*cking great. Album was one of the best albums of 2009 and Astro Coast is one of the best albums of 2010 so far.

I used to listen to Wavves for a while around this time last year after Wavvves was released but i got sick of that album pretty quick. I'm not really too bothered to try out their new one despite the positiveness towards it.

The Drums are great, and i don't care what anyone else thinks. They write good memorable pop songs and i have them on rotation quite a lot.

Regarding recent indie trends that suck i agree with TheCunningStunt about Topshop 'indie' fashion, cardigans and also those t-shirts with deep v-necks just look plain stupid.

You should really check out Wavves new album. I think they're a surprisingly good band, even though there's a lot of hate towards them they produce great lo-fi garage pop songs. The new album sounds less pretentious because it has a better production to it, Wavvves sounded like it was trying too hard.

Glad you agree, I really don't get the Topman appeal. Awful shop, shit clothes. Wearing plimsolls in primary school was an embarrassment, now it's fashion. I hate them plad shirts as well. But cardigans and skinnies take the piss.

I might investigate the new album sometime soon. I only heard the title track and it didn't sound like anything special.

I hate really colourful plimsolls they just look ridiculous. I like plaid shirts though, although i don't wear them in a buttoned-up indie sort of way. They look great worn over a band t-shirt in a more grunge way.

The title track I liked, it was a great start to the album. Maybe you'll think it's forgettable, but I've been listening to it a lot lately. These can be my guilty pleasure band, I've never really had one of them before.

I wouldn't be seen dead in the plad shirt combined with band t, I think some people look like complete dicks wearing that. Especially people in their mid to late 20s that still have long hair and refuse to grow up. Cringeworthy.

It always reminds me of the 90s as well when I see it.

I quite liked Real Estate's album, although it's nothing that special. A pleasant listen though. Wavves is OK.

I quite like Girls' album, I saw them live last November I think it was and it was pretty good, although I was really stoned at the gig... but it was awesome at the time. One of the songs on their album is quite the ripoff of Sonic Youth's Mote - but fair enough, I still dig it.

i just listen to waaves' latest effort and i really enjoy it much more so than "so bored". i also love girls and the drums. i guess i enjoy the lazy, surfer music.

Oh man, I saw Wavves play here in Toronto last month because EVERYBODY was talking about them. I did not see what all the hype was about. They were awful. The songs sucked, the sound was dismal and the band had zero chemistry on stage. It was dreadful. I don't know what the hype is about.

My most hated Indie trend is Hipsters drinking PBR beer. It's not ironic, it's not cool, it's just crappy beer!
