I agree. They didn't blow me away. But I find them quite enjoyable. Solid band.

Seeing them in Colombus on the 9th. They've really gained a lot of popularity lately

saw them in Atlanta a few months ago and then New Orleans. See them in Montreal this weekend. You probably can't get the full effect of Phoenix until you see them in concert. GREAT light show, probably one of the best I have seen. In Atlanta I was sitting next to these dirty French guys eating dinner, at some Indian/Vegetarian joint and they were talking about going to New Orleans (I speak French) and I found it interesting that they were driving the next day to see the band I was seeing also. How dumb did I feel when I looked up on stage when Phoenix came on and it was the band I was eating next to? Really really dumb.

Anyhoo, I think they are the cat's pyjamas and one of my favorite bands around, if driving 12 hours one day to see them and 8 hours the next day to see them again can attest to. My favorite songs by them are "Rally" and "No Consolation Prizes" from their previous album. They are true performers and anyone who has seen them live can say that.

Their debut album is my personal favorite, and definitely is a good place to start, but you may want to start out with Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. It's definitely their most popular album and if you've heard the song 1905, it's on this album. The only album by them that I thought wasn't good was Alphabetical, which really just kind of sucked imo.

Ya I really like these guys. Not the most deep listening experience but really catchy.

They're a pretty good band. I first heard of them the other day listening to NPR. I thought I'd listen.

The singer reminds me of Kevin Barnes from of Montreal, which is always a good thing.

Their latest album is sublime (very consistent). I remember playing it for a bunch of Metric fans and them calling me a complete moron, LOL.

'Sup with that?

saw them in concert last night. They are worth your money.

I went in expecting the same faux new wave horse**** but truth be told they are equally as jam-ish. Really nice grooves (funk, not jazz) and really, really good hard rock riffs at times.

I think they're far better live than on record.

I saw them in Santa Barbara and they were amazing. I know 1901 is pretty mainstream now but I still like it a lot. Lisztomania is also really fun - the up and down of the beat is cool
