Default Hi I'm new - and all that.

So, where do I start...I've been interested in music for quite a short time (2-3 years), but my interest has picked up to the point where I've decided to not only listen to and trying to understand music, but to actually play and create it as well. So I've kind of inherited a guitar (the previous owner isn't dead but hasn't touched it for 10 odd years), started bleeding from my fingers, snapped a string, learnt a pathetically simple tune and bled some more.

My musical taste is very varied, to the point where it's easier to say what I don't like than what I do, so here goes Hip Hop, Rap, Death Metal...and that's about it. I am especially attracted to Italian music, and so names that really gets me going are Marco Conidi, Rino Gaetano, Francesco Gucchini, Laura Pausini and Andrea Bocelli. But my favourite artist of all time is Fabrizio de Andre, who I regard as the greatest cantautore (singer/songwriter) in history.
Lyrics are rather important to me.

Finally, some boring facts:

Age: 17
Country: Norway
Instrument: Steel-string guitar.
Been playing for: 2 weeks, 1&1/2 with 5 strings.

And a very important fact:
Favourite football team: AS Roma

So that's it, I guess.

Yes. Were all bastards.

Anyway, welcome aboard!

I wouldn't be surprised if you find yourself getting introducted to some music you actually do like in those genres above during your time here.

Holy crap, another norwegian! Velkommen!

We're quite rare on this forum, but there's a couple of us around from before - myself and Comus, although that long haired, slobby troll has been gone for a while. At the moment, you and I even reside in the same town so that's interesting. Anyways, welcome again and hope you stick around!

If you want any recommendations on where to start, there's a bunch of rather great members journals here.

My favourite part of that match is when Man U are 5-0 up and all you can hear is "Roma, Roma, Roma from the 2000 Roma fans.
2000 outsinging, what, 65 000? That's Roma in a nutshell.

PS. I had to remove the url, seems like there's some 15-post-rule preventing me from doing so.

Lol, it's ok. At least you're still a die hard fan, that's respectable

Quite a lot of replies to make:

@Toretorden, takk for velkomsten (alltid kult å forvirre andre nasjonaliteter ved å snakke norsk). I'll check out the journals.

@crash, sorry but it's football. Just as Napoli isn't Naples and Firenze isn't Florence. I take it you're American...?
Anyway, I still haven't got around to fix the snapped string, and so it's all about basic techniques and gathering advise from various sources (I'm lucky enough to attend a school with some excellent guitarists).

@Dr. Seussicide, well thank you! Sometimes only a defeat like that makes you realise how much you actually care about your club.
So you're a Man U fan then?
