Default What's up from New Orleans

What's happening, everyone? I'm Riloh, a 21 year old female from the south. I found this forum via google about an hour ago while I was frightfully bored in math class.

I'm new here, and probably for the same reason as you all- I'm looking for some fresh music. I'm a woodwind player from New Orleans, so naturally I have love for the Jazz and Funk scene. I love all kinds of music, but I haven't really listened to mainstream tunes for quite some time now, and that's probably best. Most people aren't into "all kinds of music", anyway. They lie. Well, I've never met someone who dug on, say, Lady Gaga AND Ravi Shankar. Either way, I'm pretty sure some musical time-space-continum would rip apart if that were to ever happen.

So I like MOST music. It's mostly the instruments I dig on: super heavy organ, horns, sitar, erhu, tablas (recently bought a pair), anything with synth, etc. It's hard to find a fellow jazz cat, even in the capital, so anyone who shares the same interests hit me up, I'm always down for new suggestions.

Favorite Musicians:
Medeski, Martin, and Wood; Miles Davis; Herbie Han****; Frank Zappa; Funkadelic; Addison Groove Project; Erykah Badu; Madlib; Skerik; Soulive; Les Claypool; Chick Corea; Phish; Horace Silver; Dr. John; and so on....

Swear censor... it probably wasn't set up in the most intelligent way (it just censors the word itself and doesn't differentiate via context) but it's not something in any mod's control.

Best thing is to circumvent it if it's a big deal for you. Highlight a letter in the swear (or cock portion of hancock) and hit the little A up top. That will wrap bbcode around the letter without changing it, but also while making the word itself illegible to the filter. Easy enough, right?

Haha- I found it more amusing than annoying, but thanks for the tip.
