So I mentioned this album a few pages back asking if anyone can recommend any albums in a similar vein. Firstly if you haven't heard the album I highly recommend it. There are a few more tracks on YouTube but I couldn't link them here due to embedding being disabled. Once you have heard the album let me know if there is anything you recommend.

I have found a Terje Rypdal album called Waves from the same era but I still feel that the Rypdal/Vitous/DeJohnette album stands out as something unique. From the same era and lable Solstice by Ralph Towner sounds pretty good. There is also a follow up to the Rypdal/Vitous/DeJohnette album called To Be Continued that features material recorded in the same sessions as the original album but again the original album really has the stand-out tracks. Anyone taken the time to listen to it? Really interested in some feed back.

So, I really want to like Bill Evans. I absolutely love his work on Kind of Blue, especially on 'Blues in Green' and 'Flamenco Sketches'. But, most of his solo work I've listened to is just too... upbeat. Those introverted ballads on Kind of Blue are absolutely stunning, but I can't seem to find the same type of stuff in his solo work. Any suggestions/answers?

Have you heard Moon Beams? Some really nice stuff on there.

There are some nice ballads on Bill Evans' posthumous release You Must Believe in Spring although I feel that Moon Beams is probably a stronger set.
