I never liked Winter so... Stevie Ray Vaughan. He's the ONLY person I've ever known to remake a Hendrix song and make it better ("Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)"). Although, that's just my opinion, but I am a snob when it comes to Hendrix. I know my **** about him.

You didnt think SRV's remake of Little Wing was ever bit as good as the original? Not that im in anway knocking the great Jimi Hendrix. Just when I think of remakes between the two stratomasters... that particular song comes to mind. There wasnt much Stevie did if anything that wasnt extraordinary. As far as Vodoo Chile I like Vodoo Chile Blues far better than the slight return.

Honestly the comparison is beyond me. I love Winter and would love to see him live but in the world of blues their are really on 2 reigning champs...The great Jimi and then Stevie. After that its one big tie.

I'm really surprised the poll is so close. Stevie was a better songwriter, although I've never seen him has as a great songwriter. Johnny winter may have been able to play faster. Ive been really impressed with his speed. I think Stevie had more style. He was jazzier than Winter and just played better sounding music, better voice too.

No way in hell was he faster than Stevie. This isnt even the best example but all I could find atm. Go to 6:45 and watch for about a minute or so.

That's why I said "may have been", haha. He was fast as hell. It's amazing how he can still play that fast behind his back. I've hear Johnny play pretty damn fast, though. I'll have to find a good example.

Yeah in reality I think most people would just laugh at this comparison. I mean I do...SRV is FTW!
