Emanuele Maniscalco / Francesco Bigoni / Mark Solborg - FOIL

Laidback melancholy third stream jazz that takes a large influence from 1940’s era Schoenberg school composers. Bird song influences possibly from Ottorino Respighi and more likely Olivier Messiaen add flavor and ambiance. Fans of Aaron Copland will also enjoy various passages. Very disciplined and intuitive improvisations.

****ing absolutely outstanding

Highest recommendations

The International Nothing - In Doubt We Trust

https://theinternationalnothing.band...doubt-we-trust

How good can two clarinets be? ****ing off the charts fantastic.

Very much on the avant garde end of the jazz spectrum and could be argued not to really be jazz at all. Whatever. It’s superb improv. Subtle- sort of brings to mind Sun Ra Meets John Cage if you know that record.

ZKKP - 12354

This is a Czech free fusion record. The production and background sonic feel is Milesy but the solos are laidback and mostly atonal.

"Four" by Seattle Jazz Duo Bad Luck

Good stuff. Bad Luck deserves a better name and chance to break out into a substantial international audience.
