I fixed your link. Here's the secret to YT vids on here.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZsEHsRW54A

Just take the code after the "=" sign and then copy and paste it inbetween the "[YOUTUBE][ /YOUTUBE]" and it'll work.

Awesome song by the way. I like you. You stay a while.

I'm not either. I just caught a mistake in my post. I made it clearer.

Kaoru Abe's legendary, one of the most emotive horn players of all time. Surprised that there wasn't a thread on him already.

Gradually Projection is my favourite work of his, it's a journey.

I always thought that Jazz Bed didn't get enough cred in his discography either.

Didn't his stomach burst or something? You play sax that hard and that's the result.

I wonder if Haino heard this before Watashi Dake?

Have you read Almost Transparent Blue?

It doesn’t answer your question but I think from reading it my impression is that players in the Japanese underground scene generally kept themselves pretty well-informed of what else was going on.

Ja it seems like a well connected scene (haven't read that though). Haino knew Abe personally, pretty sure they even played together, I'm just not sure if Abe played guitar enough for it to show up on the radar.
